What changed in our teaching

During online learning, teachers focused on shorter instructions, clearer goals, and fewer but more meaningful tasks so students could manage their time at home. These habits now stay in our classrooms, with more step‑by‑step guidance, regular check‑ins, and simple digital tools that help students see what they need to do next.

What worked well for students and families

Many students valued being able to rewatch explanations, submit work online, and get feedback in writing as well as in person. Families appreciated more frequent updates and a better view of what their children were learning, which helped them support study routines at home.

What we are keeping for the future

Athena High is keeping a blended approach: key resources stay available online, while class time focuses more on discussion, practice, and support. If remote learning is needed again, these systems mean students and teachers can move more smoothly between home and school without starting from zero.
